I'm a new parent trying to figure out the best option for my baby's gut health. What's the best way to go?

As a pediatric nurse, I've seen firsthand how crucial breast milk is for infants. It provides a complete set of nutrients and antibodies, which aren't fully replicable by probiotics. If you're able to breastfeed, I'd always recommend doing it as much as possible. Probiotics can be a useful supplement, especially if you're having issues with milk supply or if your baby has been on antibiotics. They can help restore the balance in the gut but shouldn't replace breast milk.

I'm a mom of two, and I breastfed my first child but couldn't with my second due to medical issues. My doctor recommended a probiotic supplement for my second baby, and it seemed to help with her digestion and colic. Both my kids are healthy, so I think it really depends on your personal situation. Breastfeeding was great, but I'm thankful for probiotics as an alternative when I couldn't.
