I keep seeing exciting headlines about new treatments or discoveries, but how do I know which ones are actually important and not just hype?

When you're reading about a new science breakthrough, a good rule of thumb is to check the source of the information first. Is it from a reputable journal or a credible news outlet? Also, look for peer-reviewed studies. Peer review means other experts have vetted the research. It’s also worth seeing if the breakthrough has been replicated or if there are plans for clinical trials if it’s health-related. Breakthroughs that are super important often get a lot of attention from the larger scientific community and not just media headlines.
