Do mental health apps really work without constant motivation?

I've been using a mental health app for about a year now, and I can say it works better with the little nudges they send me. It’s like having a gentle reminder to take a breather or do a quick meditation. When they added those prompts, I found myself using the app more consistently. I don’t always feel motivated, so having that small push helps keep me on track without needing to rely solely on willpower.

In my personal experience, motivation alone wasn’t enough to keep up with using a mental health app. I tried it a few times and always ended up ignoring it after a week or two. But when I started using one that sends me daily reminders and rewards small achievements, I found it much easier to stick with. The app basically became part of my routine, making it less about pushing myself and more about letting it integrate naturally into my day.
