As a physical therapist, I often recommend cold showers to my patients who engage in regular exercise. The cold water can help reduce inflammation and muscle soreness by constricting blood vessels, which can decrease swelling. It's similar to applying ice to an injury, but on a broader scale. Cold showers aren’t a cure-all, but they can be a useful part of a recovery routine, particularly if you've had an intense workout.

From what I’ve read, cold showers can help with recovery, but it's not a one-size-fits-all solution. Some people swear by it, while others don’t notice much difference. Cold exposure can aid in reducing inflammation, but you have to be careful not to overdo it, especially if you have sensitive skin or if you’re prone to circulatory issues. I’d suggest trying it out for yourself and seeing how your body responds.
